1. Fix your posture
2. Nose breathe
3. Learn to use diaphragm for correct breathing
4. Apply TRS Mobility techniques for movement restrictions
5. Be excellent at performing foundation patterns of movement- Squat. Lunge. Deadlift. Pistol. Press patterns. Pull patterns. Front rack and Hang.
6. Correct firing and strengthening of the Core.
7. Do movements in all 3 planes
8. Plan your training
9. Be able to deal with the potential boredom of the routine
10. Remember that being fit is a lifestyle and habits and identity is built around this.
HEALTH- Complete wellbeing as a resource for everyday life. Having the robustness and ability to deal with your environment.
Building resilience and independent living from emotional capacity, clear thinking, ability to love, create, embrace change and continue to grow.
SHORT version- Adaptability. Self-management. Moving towards wholeness.
PHYSICAL FITNESS- A state of physical capacity and wellbeing which allows you to perform daily living and to participate in life and sport at the level you desire.
From years working in the fitness industry my view of what training should do has evolved and become more comprehensive.
This is what I want training to do:
• Improve posture
• Improve how you move
• Teach you correct movement mechanics
• Be functional
• Increase strength
• Improve all 10 components of fitness
• Increase your movement vocabulary
• Change body shape
• Have a carryover to daily life
• Increase your confidence
• Challenge you and make you grow- Physically. Mentally. Emotionally.
• Fulfil your definition of fitness
